Frequently Asked Questions
What color puppies do you have and how can I be sure to get the color I want?
While we certainly love hearing from our prospective new families about their favorite colors of puppies, color is not something that is a primary focus for us. We do not select our breeding matchups with color as a priority, nor do we place our puppies based on color preference alone. When possible, we try to the best of our ability to provide each family with a puppy of their color preference, but it is not a priority, nor a guarantee. Instead, we focus on matching up each family with the puppy that we feel has the best temperament and personality to fit well with that family.
How much do your puppies cost?
All of our puppies are priced at $3500
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. In order to gain a place on our waiting list, we require a non-refundable deposit of $500. The deposit is part of the total price.
Do you have a health guarantee for your puppies?
Absolutely! All of our puppies are covered by a comprehensive 24 month health guarantee, which is covered in greater detail in our contract.
Do you do any health testing on your dogs?
Yes. All of our dogs that we intend to use for breeding are health tested prior to breeding them. Not only do we conduct a DNA test for a large number of known health issues in the breed, but we also have our breeding dogs tested for any potential of hip dysplasia/DJD, cardiac problems and elbow dysplasia. We use PennHIP for the hip tests and OFA for the others.
What all is included in the total cost of the puppy?
Aside from the puppy itself, the total price includes the $500 non-refundable deposit, Limited AKC registration, all age appropriate vaccinations and dewormer, microchip, tails docked, ears cropped, our health and temperament guarantees, and a lifetime of breeder support.
What if I don't want to have my puppy's tail docked or ears cropped? Can I request to leave them intact?
All of our puppies have their tails docked at 2-3 days old and have their ears cropped at approximately 7 weeks of age. We don't offer the option of leaving tails or ears intact. We do have very specific reasons for doing this, which we're more than happy to discuss if you have questions about it.
When can I expect to bring my puppy home?
All of our puppies are eligible to go to their new homes once they are 10 weeks old. While most breeders will start sending puppies home at 8 weeks of age, we feel that the additional time we allow our puppies to spend with the mother and littermates teaches them important manners and structure such as boundaries and bite inhibition.
Can I choose my puppy on my own/at an earlier date?
The short answer to this is no. The long answer is, while we understand that a lot of people have their own methods for choosing a puppy, we can assure you that you will not possibly be able to determine more about any of the puppies in a brief half hour to an hour visit than what we can tell about them from being with them day in and day out for 10 weeks. We have a very specific and strict vetting protocol that we have developed in order to get to know our new potential families well and what they would ideally like to see in a new corso puppy. Using that information, combined with the intimate details we know about each puppy, we can be sure that we match them up with the puppy that will fit best within their home, insuring a long and happy life for our puppy and their new family.
Will my puppy come with breeding rights, or can I pay extra for breeding rights?
No, we do not sell our puppies with breeding rights, even at a higher cost. That being said, if we have a puppy that we feel would potentially qualify as a breeding prospect, we may offer them on a co-own contract to a properly vetted and approved family, or place them in a guardian home to be evaluated at a later date for breeding potential. These options will only be determined by us and will be completely dependent on the quality we see in the prospect puppy, should we have one.
Can you transport the puppy to me if I can't come there and pick it up?
While we always prefer to have our new families come pick up their new puppy, we completely understand that that isn't always an option. In light of that, we do have some transport/delivery options available for an additional cost.
Can we come visit the puppies/your facility, even if we're not sure we're going to buy one?
Absolutely!! We love having visitors and helping people learn more about these amazing dogs! In order to maintain a clean and healthy environment though, and insure that everyone's time and schedule is respected, we do ask you to set an appointment with us, and we do have specific requirements to be met for a visit.
